Ministers, officials to attend three-day Inner Engineering course from today

Taking a break from the day-to-day administrative grind, Andhra Pradesh ministers, IAS, IPS, IFS and other officials will undergo 3-day crash course on “Inner Engineering – for joyful living” being organised by Isha Foundation from Thursday.

Around 300 people will take part in the 3-day program of Isha Foundation run by spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev.

A press release from the Chief Minister’s Office said that this is the first time that a State Government will be working closely with an organization to inculcate habit of yoga and meditation among its staff and ministers. The Government will also work on charity activities with the Foundation.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will attend the inaugural session on Thursday and also participate in an “in-conversation” session with Sadhguru on January 31, the closing day of the program.

According to Mr. Naidu, the program is a team-building exercise which will give clarity of thought, teach how to maintain work-life balance and increase the happiness quotient of officials. The Chief Minister believes that this eventually will lead to improvement in quality of governance and administration.

The sessions will include preparatory asanas, breathing exercises, exploration of tools for inner balance and joy, tools for translating inner well-being to external effectiveness. The sessions are expected to equip officials with multitasking skills and help them to handle stressful situations with calmness.
