Institute of Scientific Research on Vedas (I-SERVE), Hyderabad, will conduct a training camp on ‘Ancient natural farming technologies in India: Current relevance, adaptability’ at the Youth Hostel campus in Tirupati at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday.
The event is conducted in association with the Federation of Farmers’ Associations (FFA), which will focus on training farmers in age-old farming practices, rejuvenation of soil health, boost to crop yield and prevention of storage losses.
Farming practices
The meet takes a re-look at the farming practices in vogue since ages that have been relegated to back seat after the advent of Green Revolution and bring focus on the practices mentioned in Vriksha Ayurveda (tree-based medicine) of Saint Surapala in 10th Century B.C.
FFA president Mangati Gopal Reddy presides over the event, while retired soil scientist K. Srinivasa Reddy act as the chief resource person.
