Lokesh gets IT in A.P. reshuffle

No change in Deputy Chief Ministers

Ending the suspense over portfolios to be allocated to his son Nara Lokesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has given the Information and Technology (IT) and Communications and Panchayat Raj departments to him.

A day after the Cabinet rejig, Mr. Naidu on Monday allocated portfolios to the Ministers. The Chief Minister parted with the Energy portfolio and gave it to veteran leader Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao. The youngest member of the Cabinet, Bhuma Akhila Priya has been given the Tourism, Telugu Language and Culture portfolios.

There is no change in portfolios of both Deputy Chief Ministers, K.E. Krishna Murthy (Revenue, Stamps and Registration) and Nimmakayala Chinarajappa (Home and Disaster Management). Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana retained their portfolios.

Kamineni Srinivas and P. Manikyala Rao of the BJP, which is an electoral ally of the TDP, too got back their departments, Medical and Health and Endowments respectively.

Prathipati Pullarao, who was in the thick of a controversy relating to alleged purchase of lands belonging to AgriGold, was stripped of the agriculture and allied departments and allotted to senior leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy.
