Left parties and YSR Congress leaders, under the banner of Land Protection Committee (LPC), on Monday appealed to farmers and private land owners to reject the packages being offered for the land for the Machilipatnam deep sea port under the Land Pooling Scheme.

The LPC, led by former Machilipatnam MLA Perni Nani, has decided to invite farmers from the Thulluru region to sensitise local farmers on how the land pooling method had failed in the case of the capital city of Amaravati.

“The farmers from Thullur will explain how the government has failed in the implementation of the promised package to the farmers,” said Mr. Nani.
