Even as Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham met politicians from the community and leaders of Congress, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) came down on the ‘disgruntled leader’ for trying to distance Kapus from the party.

TDP parliamentary party leader Thota Narasimham, Minister P. Narayana and legislator Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, all hailing from the community, breathed fire on Mr. Mudragada for meeting K. Chiranjeevi, Dasari Narayana Rao and PCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, even as the Manjunath Committee formed by the State is looking into the issue of extending reservation to the Kapus.

Addressing the media separately, they wondered what he was doing during the previous Congress rule and warned that the community would emerge as the loser due to Mr.Padmanabham’s attitude.

Rubbish claims

They rubbished his claims against the Government, pointing out that he was merely reading out the script prepared by ‘Lotus Pond’ (YSR Congress headquarters).

Appointed

Special Correspondent in Vijayawada adds:

The APCC has appointed former MLA Lingamsetti Eeswar Rao as chairman of the PCC Kapu Reservation Sadhikarika wing.

APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, in a letter issued on Saturday, made the appointment.
