JNTUK to honour Satheesh Reddy today

G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to the Union Defence Minister, will be the chief guest at the JNTUK convocation.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) is going to present Honorary Causa to G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific advisor to the Union Defence Minister, during the firth convocation of the university here on Saturday. Dr. Reddy is going to be the chief guest of the event and will deliver the convocation address.

JNTUK Vice-Chancellor V.S.S. Kumar, at a press conference here on Friday, said that awards, medals and certificates would be presented to the students who had completed their studies from the university in the academic years 2013-14 and 2014-15 during the convocation.

Around 54,320 B.Tech degrees, 1,206 B. Pharmacy, 6,312 MBA, 1,987 MCA, 3,521 M.Tech, 491 M.Pharmacy, 21 MSIT, 16 Ph.D and 28 gold medals would be presented to the pass outs of the year 2014.

Similarly, 40,729 B.Tech degrees, 1,225 B. Pharmacy, 1,095 MBA, 200 MCA, 1,666 M.Tech, 125 M.Pharmacy, one MSIT, 56 Ph.D and 28 gold medals would be presented to those who graduated in the year 2015, he said.

Referring to the chief guest, Prof. Kumar said that Dr. Reddy was a graduate in electronics and communications engineering from the JNTU, Anantapur, and recipient of MS and doctorate from the JNTU, Hyderabad.

“He is an aerospace scientist well renowned for his prodigious research, development, production, deployment of missile systems,” he said.

Rector B. Prabhakara Rao, Registrar G.V.R. Prasada Raju and other officials were present.
