President of YSR Congress Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will undertake a three-day bus yatra in Andhra Pradesh from April 15 to 17 to interact with farmers on the status of irrigation projects on Godavari and Krishna rivers.

Deputy Floor Leader of the party in the Assembly Jyothula Nehru told reporters here on Saturday that the yatra would take-off at Godavari Barrage on April 15. Mr. Reddy would interact with farmers at Dowleswaram and Kovvur in Rachhabanda programme.

He would visit Polavaram and Pattiseema project sites and would interact with farmers there on the same day.

The party president would visit Krishna Barrage and Delta on April 16 and 17 and interact with farmers on the ongoing irrigation projects. He would mobilise public opinion on the apathy of Telugu Desam government towards the irrigation sector.

“Several projects taken up during the rule of late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy are in the final stages of completion but the State is neglecting them now”, Mr. Nehru said. There was staunch opposition to Polavaram project from Telangana leaders who were contending that Andhra Pradesh should go in for smaller projects, he said.

The TDP government had taken up Pattiseema project with political and commercial motives and was misleading people by stating that it would be completed within a year, he alleged.
