YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was discharged from the Government General Hospital here on Wednesday evening after his health condition improved considerably.
He was accompanied by wife Bharathi, mother Vijayamma and sister Sharmila as he left the hospital in a car. Later, they flew to Hyderabad in an Air India flight from Vijayawada. Mr. Jaganmohan , who had been on an indefinite fast seeking special category status for AP, was admitted to the ICU in the early hours of Tuesday after police foiled his fast. His health deteriorated rapidly and the ketone levels in the urine showed abnormal levels of +4 causing anxiety to his family as well party leaders.
The YSRC chief announced an action plan to be taken up in all districts and Assembly constituencies from Wednesday. “Whatever the TDP government is claiming that they had taken the initiative to set up central institutions, are actually promised by the previous UPA government and are incorporated in the AP Reorganisation Act. Only by granting special category status, the AP will witness economic growth and employment opportunities,” Mr. Jaganmohan told The Hindu before leaving the GGH.
After some initial resistance, he was administered IV fluids. Doctors had put him under 24 hours observation and his health condition stabilised. “The ketone levels are negligible, and all his vital parameters are normal. He was discharged after a thorough check-up,” said GGH superintendent Raju Naidu.
