Reiterating his commitment to fulfil all the promises made to the Kapu community, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Monday he would look into their demand for reservations in education and employment on the basis of the Manjunath Commission report.

He appreciated the Kapu leaders when they told him that they did not want political reservations and assured them that he would give due representation to the community in nominated posts and party forua. “I will fulfil your political aspirations by striking the right balance,” he asserted.

Addressing a meeting with Kapu leaders and activists from all over the State here, Mr. Naidu recalled that it was he who had got the Kapu reservations included in the party’s election manifesto having studied their problems from close quarters during his ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ Padayatra.

Mr. Naidu said the Congress leaders had cheated the Kapus by getting their community removed from the list of BCs and questioned why Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had not taken up their cause and the reasons for Jagan Mohan Reddy maintaining a stoic silence.
