Commissioner of Police D. Gautam Sawang on Saturday called upon the youth to explore career growth opportunities available abroad.
Mr. Sawang was addressing students at the inaugural session of a workshop on International fellowships organised by the Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS) in association with Nova Educational Society (NES).
He said there were many opportunities across the world for youth and that the Ministry for Human Resources Development as well as the governments of various countries were providing scholarships and all other support required for graduates to pursue fellowship programmes abroad.
He said countries like Japan had been looking for young talent.
“The world has become a global village, and taking advantage of it, youngsters should keep looking out for chances. Students spending time on Internet should make it a point to browse the right channels that are useful for career,” Mr Sawang told the students.
Later, CHSS founder and director K. Ramesh Babu made a presentation on the fellowship programmes offered with scholarships by 13 countries and other such career programmes in India.
A book detailing the same were given away to the students.
Former RTI commissioner and NES president M. Vijaya Nirmala, NES secretary M. Krishna Rao and others were present.
