Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) from Tirupati on Saturday nabbed circle inspector of Excise and Prohibition wing Ranga Reddy at his office at Punganur while he was accepting Rs. 40,000 bribe from a wine shop proprietor.

According to ACB DSP K. Shankar Reddy, a special task force sealed the wine shop of one Peddireddi at Punganur on September 19. When he approached the CI for reopening the shop, the latter demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000. A deal was struck for Rs 40,000 and the shop was allowed to function on September 21. As the shop owner did not clear the bribe, the CI threatened to once again seal the shop.
