EPIC-Aadhaar linkage: BLOs warned of action

Strict action will be taken against Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who fail to fulfil the task of linking Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) with Aadhaar number, as directed by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwar Lal, maintained Tirupati Revenue Development Officer V. Veerabrahmaiah.

Interacting with the revenue officials, regarding the linkage of EPIC to Aadhaar number, Mr. Veerabrahmaiah reviewed the ongoing registration process undertaken by the BLOs. He later visited Municipal Primary High School near D.R. Mahal (P.S. No. 158 – Gandhipuram) and inspected the process of registration. He also directed the concerned officials to visit every house to keep track of voters who have shifted from their original addresses, by nothing them in a special register, and then undertake the process of linking EPIC with Aadhaar. He also told the officials to complete the entire process by May 5.

Later, Mr. Veerabrahmaiah visited the office of the Urban Tahasildar and inspected the data entry works. He urged the Anganwadi teachers and VROs to extend their cooperation with the BLOs, with regard to the registration process.Mr. Veerabrahmaiah also inspected lands (survey number 1901/A), earmarked for railway line expansion works.
