Accusing the BJP of preventing the State from getting the SCS, the CPI activists burnt the effigy of the BJP in Kakinada on Saturday. Following the BJP’s opposition to a private Bill proposed to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha in regard to the SCS to Andhra Pradesh on Friday, the party activists took out a procession at Kalpana Theatre Centre and raised slogans against the BJP and its leader from the State, M. Venkaiah Naidu.

Addressing the activists, CPI district unit secretary Tatipaka Madhu alleged that both the BJP and the TDP were duping people of the State on the issue. He wondered by Mr. Naidu remained silent in the Rajya Sabha when his party leaders were obstructing tabling of the Bill on the SCS.
