Bus catches fire

Providential escape for students. The bus left Palakollu town to pickup students from Achanta. Only six students were on board.

A bus belonging to Aditya Junior College caught fire, after it came into contact with a 11 kv high tension wire. However, no casualty was reported as the bus was empty when the incident occurred.

According to police and fire officials, the bus left Palakollu town to pickup students from Achanta. Only six students were on board and when the bus reached Penumanchili village, around 3 km from Achanta.

The driver decided to shift all the students to another bus belonging to the same college. After shifting the students, the driver parked the vehicle in an open layout nearby. The parked bus came in contact with the high tension wire passing over it and immediately went into flames. It was completely gutted before the fire tenders reached the village.
