‘TDP will waive loans taken by DWCUA, DWCRA groups, if voted to power’

Buoyed by huge response to the ‘Mahila Garjana’ organised here on Thursday, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu said a programme ‘Pandanti bidda’ would be launched to save newborn child and mother.

Reeling out statistics on infant mortality rate and nutritional levels in newborn child, Mr. Naidu said the Telugu Desam government would pay Rs. 10,000 per month till the child attains the age of six months.

The objective is to provide necessary nutritional food to both lactating mother and child, he said.

Doling out sops to women, Mr. Naidu said the Telugu Desam would waive off the loans taken by the DWCUA and DWCRA groups.

Touching upon his concern for safety and security of women, the TDP leader said the party would accord top priority to women’s safety.

Focus on women security

Every woman would be given a GPRS-enabled cell phone to alter police in distress.

Recalling that the TDP government gave women the property right and reservation in politics, Mr. Naidu said the TDP government would provide free education to girl child from KG to PG. Under ‘Mahalakshmi Pathakam’, the government would deposit Rs. 25,000 in the name of a girl child soon after her birth, and Rs. 2 lakh would be given to her at the time of marriage. Setting up of a gurkul to orphan girls, financial assistance to perform marriage, free cycles to school-going children, free bus passes to students, fee reimbursement were some of the other sops offered.
