Senior BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy has admitted that the party might have committed some mistakes in its strategies in taking full advantage of the important role played by it in creation of Telangana State.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, he said there might have been some defects in the strategies. However, they would be rectified and Telangana would be developed into a fortress of BJP, he added. Telangana State would not have been a reality without BJP’s support but the party did not present it properly before the people, he observed. Regarding alliance with the TDP, he said the national leadership took a decision.
He said there was no link between the local body elections and the general election. There was a clear-cut wave in favour of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. With surveys indicating that the NDA would be forming the next government at the Centre, he said people wanted a change.
Mr Reddy charged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with failing to provide leadership for the country and in solving the problems faced by the people. He said the NDA government which would be formed soon under the leadership of Mr. Modi would function efficiently and try to solve problems like price rise and unemployment.
