A pregnant woman (18) was killed after an RTC bus knocked her down at Mahipala Cheruvu Centre on Friday evening.
According to Mummidivaram Circle Inspector, the RTC bus on its way from Kakinada to Amalapuram hit Polisetty Durga, who was nine-month pregnant, when she was crossing the road. Eyewitness told the police that, the bus was speeding and the driver had failed to stop it.
An injured Durga was rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead. Irate crowd damaged the bus with sticks and threw stones at it.
