Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association, which represents over 5 lakh employees, has plenty of hopes on the scheduled 19th State-level General body meeting (‘Maha Sabhalu’) to be held on February 12 and 13 in Srikakulam. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to inaugurate the event. He is likely to accept the long pending demands of the staff on the occasion.
APNGOs Association State associate president Chowdary Purushottam Naidu and APNGOs district president Hanumanthu Sairam met Labour Minister K. Atchannaidu and sought the government’s cooperation in resolving pending issues. The Minister, who formally released the poster of the Maha Sabhalu, at his camp office at Nimmada, said the government was sympathetic towards employees’ demands.
According to association leaders, the government is yet to release DA to the staff. The other issues highlighted by employees are heavy work pressure and more than 1.4 lakh vacancies. The government is not considering the long pending demand of regularizing the contract and outsourcing employees who were working at par with the regular staff in the departments. The government is not paying up to 20 percent House Rent Allowance (HRA) to the staff of Srikakulam town as the population was below 2 lakh.
“Many areas within the town come under the jurisdiction of villages. That is why; the population of Srikakulam is not crossing 2 lakh figure. The State government should look into the issue and help the employees of backward district to get HRA along with other employees,” said Mr.Purushottam Naidu.
APNGOs Association President P.Ashok Babu is expected to submit a detailed memorandum to the Chief Minister during the two day meeting. Revenue employees who were over burdened with the expectations of the government and new schemes would insist for better infrastructure in the offices.
They also seek relief from many unwanted responsibilities. The Union will complete district level election process as it is necessary to elect new presidents for the districts as per the rules and regulations of the association.
