A vote for development, says Haribabu

August 28, 2017 11:46 pm | Updated 11:46 pm IST - Vijayawada

BJP State president and Visakhapatnam MP K. Haribabu described the TDP’s victory in the Nandyal byelection as an endorsement of the policies and the good work being done by the State government.

He told The Hindu that it was a vote for development and a rejection of the malicious campaign by the YSR Congress Party, whose president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy stooped to the level of saying that “the Chief Minister should be shot dead for allegedly cheating people by going back on his election promises.”

Asked when BJP national president Amit Shah would come to Andhra Pradesh after postponing his scheduled three-day visit that was to begin on August 28, Mr. Haribabu said there was no indication about it as yet.

He said Mr. Shah had some pressing engagements with the Prime Minister and the much-anticipated Cabinet reshuffle might have required his availability in Delhi.
