U.S. President Barack Obama would meet new Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and his Egyptian counterpart Abdul Fattah al-Sisi among other world leaders in New York later this week on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly, the White House has said.

“We can confirm that on Wednesday, September 24, the President will hold a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi,” said Caitlin Hayden, spokesperson of the National Security Council, the White House.

“On Thursday, September 25 the President will hold meetings with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi.

“While in New York, the President will also have a short pull-aside with Spanish King Felipe VI on Tuesday, September 23,” Ms. Hayden said.

Following his return to Washington, Mr. Obama will hold a bilateral meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White house on October 1, Ms. Hayden said.

Before his meetings with the Israeli Prime Minister, Mr. Obama would meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on September 29 and 30, the official added.
