Two U.S. tourists, a husband and wife and their driver have been kidnapped by gunmen in Yemen, the Al—Arabiya TV channel reported on Monday.

They were kidnapped by unknown tribesmen in al—Haymah district, 45 kilometeres to the west of Sana’a, the Yemen Observer reported on its website, adding that the demands of the kidnappers have not yet been made known.

Last week, two young German girls were freed during a joint Yemeni—Saudi security operation. They had been seized — along with their parents, younger brother, two other German women, a South Korean female teacher and a British engineer — last year.
