Eight persons were killed in an apparent suicide bombing outside a police complex in this eastern Pakistan city on Tuesday.

The incident took place near Police Lines in Qila Gujar Singh area of the city, Pakistan’s second-largest and the power base of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

According to initial reports, a suicide bomber came from a hotel outside the Police Lines and blew himself up, Express Tribune reported.

Some reports said the blast was followed by rapid gunfire.
