Pakistani media says as many as 176 more Pakistanis have returned home after being evacuated from Yemen with help from the Chinese navy.

State-run television on Friday showed live footage of cheerful Pakistanis exiting a special flight at the Islamabad airport.

According to media reports, a Chinese ship took these Pakistanis from the southern Yemeni port city of Aden to Djbouti, where a Pakistani plane brought them home.

So far, Pakistan has evacuated 676 Pakistanis out of the estimated 3,000 of its citizens living in Yemen.

Pakistan has expressed support for the Saudi-led coalition’s ongoing airstrikes against Shiite rebels in Yemen, who have overrun the capital, Sanaa, and forced the Western-backed president to flee.
