French Agriculture Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Thursday the G—20 summit had agreed to research more productive strains of wheat, establish a transparent system to track global supplies and create a rapid response mechanism to deal with drought in producer countries.

The largest economies in the world have agreed to take a series of measures to stabilize world food prices after years of sudden fluctuations.

French Agriculture Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Thursday the G—20 summit had agreed to research more productive strains of wheat, establish a transparent system to track global supplies and create a rapid response mechanism to deal with drought in producer countries.

Mr. Le Maire said the agreement restores faith in the possibilities of international cooperation and solidarity.
