Three people have been killed in floodwaters from a strong storm that pounded Australia’s east coast over the weekend.

New South Wales state police say the body of a 65-year-old man was found on Monday in a car in a creek near the town of Bowral, about 120 km south of Sydney. The body of another man was found in a truck swept away by floodwaters in the southwest Sydney suburb of Leppington. In the nation’s capital, Canberra, a 37-year-old man died after his car was also caught in floodwaters.
