CPI(ML) Nadia District Secretary Bahar Ali Sheikh was shot dead at Taibichara village when he was cycling to his home from Bethuadahari, police sources said on Tuesday.
Mr. Sheik was stopped by unidentified gunmen on two motorcyles and shot thrice in the stomach Monday night, sources said.
He was rushed to Bethuadahari Hospital and was referred to Shaktinagar Hospital. He died while being taken to Medical College Hospital in Kolkata, the sources said.
