Even though its ally, the ruling All India NR Congress is yet to outline its poll strategy, the Puducherry unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has commenced its campaign in some constituencies.

Campaign without candidate

The campaign vehicle has been doing the rounds in Lawspet, Raj Bhavan and other constituencies with pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and other local leaders.

BJP cadres were found campaigning without naming any candidate to the constituency or proclaiming an alliance.

. Selvam, vice president of BJP unit said, “We have been taking achievements and schemes of BJP Government led by Narendra Modi to the public through our campaign. There may be official announcement on alliance around April 1 from the party high command.”

Even as the BJP leaders expressed their desire to ally with AINRC, the president and Chief Minister N.Rangasamy has been maintaining silence over this issue.
