Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Sunday warned officers of serious consequences if they issue orders without informing the Ministers concerned.
The Chief Minister told presspersons here that officers violating the procedural rules would be taken to task.
When a case was pending before the court on the status of nominated MLAs, officials could not issue orders seeking disbursement of funds to them.
The Speaker had made his decision not to recognise the BJP leaders appointed by the Centre as nominated MLAs.
Even the Union Ministry of External Affairs, in its invitation for the passport office inauguration at Karaikal recently, had mentioned V. Saminathan as BJP local unit president and not as an MLA.
Ruling out any chance of salary disbursement to the nominated MLAs, the Chief Minister said every month the salary bill for the MLAs was sent by the Assembly Secretariat. The Directorate of Accounts and Treasury made salary payment on the bill submitted by the Speaker’s office, he added.
He said the Assembly had budgeted MLALAD funds for 30 MLAs and it would not be possible to allot funds to the three nominated MLAs.
On the distress faced by farmers in Thirukannur, Lingareddypalayam and Mannadipet due to water shortage, the Chief Minister said Tamil Nadu had failed to release water from the Veedur dam.
As per the agreement, Tamil Nadu should release water when the reservoir was full.
There was sufficient storage in the dam but Tamil Nadu failed to release water.
Public Works Minister A. Namassivayam had been in touch with his counterpart in Tamil Nadu on the issue of water sharing, the Chief Minister said.
More flights
Mr. Narayanasamy expressed confidence in starting more flights from here in the near future.
Spicejet would launch its Bengaluru service from February 15, he added.
The Tamil Nadu government had started the process to acquire land on its side for expanding the runway.
Mr. Narayanasamy said during his meeting with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at Karaikal he had apprised her on the need to find a permanent solution to the harassment of Indian fishermen by Sri Lankan maritime agencies.
