Classes of five schools shifted out of heritage buildings

The Puducherry Government has shifted classes of five schools functioning out of heritage buildings to neighbouring schools in view of the precarious condition of the old structures.

According to the Director of School Education, L. Kumar, arrangements have been made to conduct classes in the new premises from December 5.

He said that classes in the College Calve Enseignement Secondaire (Government Boys Higher Secondary School) have been shifted to Government Primary School at Perumal Kovil Street. Students of classes in the Government Primary School at Perumal Kovil Street have been shifted to the Primary School at Pudupalayam.

Similarly students of classes IX and X in the V. O. C Government Boys Higher Secondary School have been shifted to Veeramamunivar Higher Secondary School.

Classes in the Pensionnat De Jeunes Filles (Government Girls French High School) on Dumas Street and Government Boys French High School have been shifted to Simon Cardinal Lourdusamy Higher Secondary School.

Classes will be held from 8.30 a.m. to 12.50 p.m. and from 1.30 p.m. to 5.50 p.m. for the two schools.
