Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD, NLC, has been conferred the Shrikshetra Samman-2016 award during the inaugural ceremony of 14th Folk Fair -2016 and Seventh Krishi Fair, a national tribal/folk song and dance festival organised at Jagannath Dham, Puri, Odisha.

Mr. Acharya was given the honour in recognition of “his high reputation, extraordinary efficiency in administration and vision” at the event hosted by the NGO Shree Srikshetra Soochana (SSS).

Giridhar Gamang, former Chief Minister, Odisha and chief patron of the 14th Fair, presented the award to Mr. Acharya in the presence of A.V. Swamy, Rajya Sabha MP, during the inaugural function of the fair.

Pradeep Maharathy, Agriculture Minister; P.K. Satpathi, educationist and Haldhar Nag, Oriya poet were also present.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Acharya while expressing delight at receiving the award, also spoke at length on various prospective growth plans at the NLC.
