Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan are set to lock horns at the box-office with their respective movie Rustom and Mohenjo Daro slated for release in August.
No change in schedule
The makers of Rustom are reportedly in negotiations with Ashutosh Gowariker to push the release date of his film Mohenjo Daro . A spokesperson for Ashutosh Gowariker Productions, however, clarified on Tuesday in a statement that the director was not approached.
“There is no change in the release date of Mohenjo Daro. As officially announced on January 15, 2015, the film will release on August 12, 2016,” the statement read.
“There is a specific promotional plan in place for our film and our campaign will begin as scheduled by our team.”
One of the year’s eagerly-awaited releases, Mohenjo Daro is an epic love story set in the Indus Valley civilisation. In the film, the protagonist falls in love with the enemy’s daughter. Hrithik and newcomer Pooja Hegde essay the lead roles.
Nanavati case
The Akshay Kumar-Ileana D’Cruz-starrer Rustom, on the other hand, is reportedly a film based on the 1959 Nanavati case, where naval officer Kavas Maneckshaw Nanavati was tried for the murder of his wife’s lover Prem Ahuja. The film is directed by Tinu Suresh. — PTI
