Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said the government was working on GIS mapping of all properties in the state. Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping will “bring (information regarding) all properties online”, he said.

Also, a common portal for all municipal councils would be put together soon, Mr. Fadnavis said at a programme here where awards for best performing municipal councils and panchayats were given. His government had allocated ₹21,000 crore for development of cities so far, he said. “146 projects worth ₹8,000 crore were pending for eight years, but we decided to complete them in three years. We gave ₹3,000 crore each for the first two years. All pending works will be completed next year,” Mr. Fadnavis said.

“We have made 200 cities open defecation-free and are working very hard to make this true for all of Maharashtra by year-end,” he said. He also spoke about a special one-year drive to promote segregation of waste from May 2017 to May 2018.
