A major fire in the city’s crowded Magalwar Peth area destroyed scores of huts on Monday afternoon. However, no loss of life was reported, while four persons suffered minor injuries.

Sources said about 15 fire and rescue services vehicles were rushed to the Bhimnagar slums to douse the blaze. The cause of fire had not been established. Local party workers too reportedly joined the rescue efforts.

Authorities said the fire was brought under control after more than five hours. The injured were undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
