Exercise at SHCI ends

It took breaking of around 25 glass panels and digging of five holes on the ground to bring the fire under control on the sixth day at Stock Holding Corporation of India (SHCI) on Sunday.

“Now we can say that the fire will not spread,” MIDC fire officer R.B. Patil said. Firefighters have been able to reach the fourth bay of the basement but are yet to reach the end of the bay.

“Every 20 minutes, we are changing the staff due to the heat,” Mr. Patil said.
