Bharathi Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School, Perumbakkam, which is a part of Global School Partnership Programme, a venture between TCS and British Council, presented projects on River Kaveri. Robert Bridle, Head Teacher, and Tracey Lockwood, Deputy Head Teacher, from Skyswood Primary School, St Albans, UK visited the school. Students presented charts and models which covered topics such as mythological stories, origin and course, pertaining to the river. Besides, flora and fauna found in the Kaveri basin and others were presented. The guests appreciated the efforts taken by the students. A mock parliamentary session was presented by Class VII students in which there were discussions about the pros and cons of cultivation of BT brinjal.
Mr. Bridle gave a presentation on River Thames and taught English for Class III students. A debate on the topic — Media is more powerful than the Government — was organised for Class X students. A project on the topic —Constitution of India — was presented by Class IX students. The guests gave a presentation on London Olympics for students of Class VI to VIII. They visited the laboratories of the school. At the valediction, participation certificates were distributed to students.
