Police van stolen near Mandaveli station in Chennai

A van belonging to the Tamil Nadu Special Police was reported stolen from outside the Mandaveli railway station.

The vehicle had been parked there on Monday afternoon.

Away on patrolling

The van, which belonged to the TSP and was used to transport personnel of the 13{+t}{+h}battalion that is stationed at Avadi, had been parked outside the Mandaveli station on Monday afternoon. The personnel had been deployed on patrolling duty along the Chennai Egmore-Tambaram stretch.

The police team found the van missing after they returned to the railway station after around three hours of patrolling.

A complaint has been filed at the Abhiramapuram police station and the police are investigating.
