Over 1 lakh persons update their details on electoral rolls in Chennai

Residents who still want to do so, can go online or can approach their Corporation zonal office until Oct. 31

Over 1.15 lakh residents updated their details on the electoral rolls on Sunday, at 984 special camps organised by the Chennai Corporation.

As per the directions of the Election Commission of India for the special summary revision 2014, these were the final special camps in all designated centres (polling booths) of the 16 assembly constituencies of Chennai district ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Residents who still want to update their names in the electoral rolls can do so online at www.elections.tn.gov.in or through authorised browsing centres until October 31.

Those who don’t have access to the internet can approach their respective Corporation zonal offices for the revision.

Corporation sources said a total of over 2 lakh persons have updated their electoral details in the special camps held on October, 6, 20 and 27.

Residents can also contact the district election office, Chennai district on the toll free number 1913 for any queries, doubts or clarifications with regard to inclusions, deletions and corrections in the electoral rolls.
