A book, ‘Illustrated Guide to Living with Diabetes in India’, is now available in Tamil for people with diabetes across the State.

The book has been translated into Tamil from the original English edition authored by The Living with Diabetes in India (LWDI) community – an online community for people with diabetes with over half a million members. It is a book written by people with diabetes for those with diabetes, according to a press release.

The Tamil edition will be available via doctors for diabetics. V. Mohan, chairman of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, who reviewed the Tamil edition, launched it recently in the city. He said the book would help educate people on self-management of diabetes and thereby help achieve total diabetic care.

The content of the book is spread across six sections, including on diet, exercise, tracking, medication and staying healthy. Praful Akali, founder of the LWDI community and editor of the book said the Tamil edition was the first regional language edition. Debasis Basu, medical coordinator, LWDI community also participated in the book launch, a press release said.
