Man kills wife

A 50-year-old woman, who was attacked by her husband following an argument on Sunday, died on Monday night. The police have launched a hunt for the man.

The victim, Kanchana, a resident of Annai Abirami Nagar in Periya Kolathuvancheri near Mangadu, had an argument with her husband, Palani (55), a security guard, after he demanded money from her for buying alcohol. When she refused, he hit her with a brick, knocking her unconscious. He then fled the scene.

Neighbours admitted Kanchana to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, where she died on Monday.
