DMK chief M. Karunanidhi’s health condition is stable, and he will meet with party cadre on his birthday if his doctors give the go-ahead, according to the party’s working president, M.K. Stalin.
“Mr. Karunanidhi’s health is being monitored continuously by the doctors and his condition is stable,” the DMK leader told mediapersons during a visit to the May Day park on Monday.
Dismissing the BJP’s claim that it was not interfering in the current affairs of the AIADMK, Mr. Stalin also sought details of the follow-up action taken post the income tax raids on the residences and the official chamber of former Chief Secretary Rama Mohana Rao and Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar. “The BJP’s role should be seen in this context. The raids should not be a mere eyewash and there should be transparent actions,” he added. He also thanked the labour unions for taking part in the recent bandh called by the DMK and other opposition parties over farmers’ issues.
