Members of the Integrated Coach Factory Apprentice Course Completed Students Association, who tried to give a representation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi near Chepauk, were detained on Friday. They were later let off.

B. Jeeva, who had completed the apprentice course in ICF, said despite the Railway Board issuing an order to recruit the apprentice pass-outs, appointment orders were issued to all railway institutes except ICF. The Central and State governments were not taking steps to direct ICF to recruit those who had passed the apprentice course, Mr. Jeeva said.

The members alleged that 27 people, who had completed the course, had committed suicide due to not getting jobs.
