Gowtham Vasudev Menon hurt in road accident at OMR

Film director Gowtham Vasudev Menon escaped with minor injuries when his Mercedes Benz car hit a tipper lorry in the early hours of Thursday near Semmanchery.

Police sources said Mr. Menon was driving his vehicle towards the city from Mamallapuram on Old Mahabalipuram Road at around 3.30 a.m. While he was nearing the Semmanchery signal, a tipper lorry was taking a U-turn from the opposite side.

Preliminary reports suggested that Mr. Menon slept at the wheel and rammed his car on the tipper. The bonnet of vehicle was completely damaged.

As airbag opened, Mr.Menon sustained some minor injuries. Guindy Traffic Police rushed to the spot and investigated the incident.
