Continuing with the overhauling of the party at various levels, AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Thursday removed five functionaries in Kancheepuram and Virudhunagar districts from primary membership on Thursday.
According to a statement, M.C. Venkatesan, Sriperumbudur panchayat union committee chairman, has been removed from primary membership and posts in Kancheepuram west district. Four functionaries in Thiruthangal in Virudhnagar district were also removed.
All the five have brought disrepute to the party, the statement said.
