Chennai traffic police have made some changes in the flow of vehicular traffic on Anna Salai between Anna flyover and Vijayaragava Road Junction from 7 a.m. on Saturday, as part of the Chennai Metro Rail underground construction work.

There will be no change in the movement of traffic from Anna Flyover towards Saidapet. Traffic from Nandanam will be diverted at Eldams Road junction to take a route via Thyagaraya Road, North Boag Road, G.N. Chetty Road to reach Anna Salai. North Boag Road will be made one way, with entry not permitted from G.N. Chetty Road.
G.N. Chetty Road between North Boag Road junction and Anna Flyover will be made one way with entry from the G.N. Chetty Road-North Boag Road junction and no entry from the Sunder Street junction. Sunder Street will be made a one way with entry from G.N. Chetty Road and no entry from Anna Salai.
The existing one way on North Boag Road (Ma.Po.Si junction) will be reversed with entry from Thyagaraya Road - Ma.Po.Si junction and no entry from North Boag Road-Vijayaragava Road junction. Apart from MTC buses, all motorists coming from Nandanam, intending to proceed towards Anna Flyover will be diverted at Eldams Road junction to take the route via Thyagaraya Road, Ma.Po.Si junction, North Boag Road, G.N. Chetty Road and Anna Flyover to reach Anna Salai. Motorists coming from Eldams Road intending to go towards Anna Flyover should take the route via Thyagaraya Road – take a right at Ma.Po.Si junction –North Boag Road and G.N. Chetty Road.
Motorists coming from G.N. Chetty Road going towards North Boag Road are to take the route via Vani Mahal, Dr. Nair Road, Vijayaragava Road and reach North Boag Road. Motorists coming from G.N. Chetty Road taking a right to North Boag Road will be restricted. Vehicles should now take the route via Vani Mahal, Dr.Nair Road, Thyagaraya Road and turn left at Ma.Po.Si Junction.
Motorists are restricted from using the bus lane from Eldams Road junction to Anna Flyover. However, motorists coming to establishments on the western side of Anna Salai will be permitted on small stretches of the lane. Two entries have been created on the bus lane for this.
