Daily Thanthi award for Kumari Ananthan

Literature should not only be conceived; it should also reach the common man. And Daily Thanthi's contribution on this score is extremely commendable, observed G.Thiruvasagam, Vice-Chancellor of Madras University, here on Tuesday. Presenting the “Mootha Thamizharingnar” Award, instituted by Daily Thanthi in commemoration of the birthday of its founder C.P.Adithanar, to litterateur and former MP Kumari Ananthan, the V-C said there had been any number of literary giants. But “all literature is meant for common man and must be understood by him.” Those present included B Sivanthi Adithan, Director, Daily Thanthi, and C.Balasubramania Adithan, Manging Director, Maalai Malar.
