Chawal ki pakodi is a dish I learnt from my friend’s grandmother when I was in school. It is an ideal snack with a hot cup of tea for a winter’s day.
What you need
Cooked rice – 1 cup
Gram flour – 5-6 tbsp
Rice flour, optional - 2-3 tbsp
Green chillies, chopped fine – 2-3
Garlic flakes, chopped fine – 4-5
Sour curd – sufficient enough to make batter
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Cooking instructions
Mix the ingredients well. Bring it to the consistency of pakoda batter. Add some water if needed.
In a frying pan heat oil. Take small quantities of the batter and drop it into the oil.
Deep fry until they turn golden brown.
Serve with sauce or any spicy chutney such as chilli, coriander or mint.
