Vaishnav College wins cricket tournament

S.D.N.B. Vaishnav College for Women team which won the inter-district T20 cricket tournament.

S.D.N.B. Vaishnav College for Women, won the inter-district T20 cricket tournament conducted by Tamil Nadu Twenty- Twenty Cricket.

The tournament was held between January 26 and 29 at D.R.B.C.C.C Hindu College, Pattabiram.

More than two dozen teams from all over the State took part in the tournament and Vaishnav emerged as the winners. R.Hemalatha of First Year M.Com. received an award for her outstanding contribution with the bat. G.Rani College Principal lauded the team members and staff. and staff of the College congratulated students on their achievement.

Vaish Comfest, the annual Commerce Association festival of the college was also held recently.

T.S. Vembu, Professor and Head , PG and Research Department of Commerce, DG Vaishnav college inaugurated the grand festival.

Several inter- classes and inter-collegiate competitions like Ad-Zap, Variety entertainment, Combo Com, Commerce Crossword, Business Quiz, Product Packaging, Business Promoters, Best Sale and Jam were conducted.

Around 15 colleges in and around the city participated in various events. Lavanya Vedagiri Rao, Head, Department of Commerce, Meenakshi College for Women gave the valedictory address.
