A body in a decomposed state was recovered by the police from a parked vehicle near the Selaiyur police station on Saturday morning.
Police said onlookers alerted them about foul smell emanating from a car parked on one side of Velachery Main Road.
When police broke open the doors, they found the body.
The victim was identified as Alan, 30, a cab driver from New Perungalathur.
