Three youngsters, in two separate incidents, drowned off the Marina on Tuesday evening and another is missing and believed to have drowned too. Asif, 16, and Idayath, 17, both belonging to Vellore district, had come to the beach with their families around 5 pm. They went missing after a while. While the police found Idayath’s body after an hour, they couldn’t find Asif.
Around the same time, B. Suresh (26) and A. Satish (21) from Pulianthope, who had come to the beach with their friends, drowned while swimming, the police said.
