JD(S) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy, here on Sunday, said he had asked BBMP councillors-elect from his party, who left for Kerala on Saturday evening, to return to Bengaluru.

Speaking to presspersons, he said he had spoken to his party MLAs, who had taken the councillors-elect, over phone on Sunday morning on the issueand asked them to return.

“I came to know about our members being taken to Kerala through news channels. Our party members staying with either Independent members or Congress leaders in Kerala will give room for speculations and create confusion among the public. I don’t want our party to be the topic of discussion, unnecessarily,” he said.

Further, he said that party leaders would take a decision on what should be the party’s stand at the time of election to the Mayor’s post.
